Adoption Process
At River Reign Ragdolls, my priority is raising happy, healthy, well-socialised kittens in a loving environment. If you’re looking for ragdoll kittens for sale in Ireland, here’s how my adoption process works step by step:
Step 1 – Initial Contact & Questionnaire
Reach out to me through my website or Instagram. I’ll send you an adoption questionnaire to learn more about you, your home, and your experience with cats. This helps me make sure a Ragdoll cat in Ireland is the right fit for your lifestyle.
Step 2 – Joining the Waiting List
Once your questionnaire is approved, you’ll be added to my waiting list. This ensures that when kittens are available, families who are genuinely prepared and interested are given first priority.
Step 3 – Beginning the Adoption Process
When kittens reach around 3 weeks of age, I begin the adoption process by contacting families on my waiting list. At this stage, I’ll discuss matches based on your preferences and the kittens’ developing personalities.
Step 4 – Choosing & Reserving Your Kitten
Together, we’ll select the kitten that best suits your family. A non-refundable deposit of €250 secures your chosen kitten. From then on, you’ll receive weekly photo and video updates, so you can follow your kitten’s journey until they’re ready to come home.
Step 5 – Growing, Socialisation & Veterinary Care
Your kitten will stay with me until they are 15–16 weeks old. During this time, they receive:
• Early socialisation with people, cats, and household environments
• Litter training
• Complete veterinary care, including:
• Two rounds of vaccinations
• Microchipping
• Worming and flea treatments
• Spay/neuter surgery from 14 weeks
• Comprehensive veterinary health checks
Step 6 – Preparing for Adoption Day
In the weeks before adoption, I’ll guide you on preparing your home (litter, food, toys etc.) and share tips to help your kitten settle in comfortably
Step 7 – Adoption Day
When your kitten is ready to leave at 15–16 weeks, you will collect them in person. On adoption day, you’ll receive:
• A kitten pack with food samples, toys, and comfort items
• Their pedigree certificate and registration papers
• A contract of adoption to safeguard their lifelong welfare
• 2 Year Genetic Health Guarantee
